    Detailed programme


    The eco-village is a small family camp committed to respecting the environment and giving you an authentic Mongolian experience. As a volunteer, you'll become part of the family and take part in their activities, immersing yourself in their daily lives and living with them. You'll help them take care of the horses (saddling, herding, training young horses), help milk the mares, cook, clean, take part in guided hikes or horseback rides and exchange a few words in English and your own language with the Mongolian staff.

    A typical day: 

    • The day starts at 8:00 am. You'll help transport and prepare breakfast. You'll have breakfast at 9:00 am with the guests or with the partner (depending on your preference).
    • 10:00-12:00: short horseback ride / Riding lesson for 1 to 2 hours 
    • Lunch from 13:00 to 14:00
    • 15 minutes for ride preparation (wearing of riding gear and instructions for participants) 
    • 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm: horseback riding on the Mongolian steppe with the instructor and guests/participants
    • Return from horseback riding, change of clothes and storage of equipment, followed by a shower.
    • 6 pm - 7 pm: Dinner
    • 7pm: Horse care for 30 minutes, such as watering the horses, taking their saddles, etc.

    Location

    The eco-village is located just 40 km from Ulan Bator, in a protected area. The camp is a haven of peace surrounded by magnificent mountains and valleys.

    You can volunteer from 2 to 12 weeks (minimum two weeks).

    • Be over 18 years old,
    • have a B1-B2 level in English

    Accommodation

    You'll sleep in a traditional Mongolian yurt (called a Gers) with other participants and volunteers. The Ger or yurt is a mobile home in the form of a round tent covered with durable, waterproof felt fabric. You'll be fed three times a day and have the opportunity to sample traditional Mongolian dishes.
