A unique pottery experience in Morocco with ALIORE
We're very excited to share with you Joanna's blog post about the unique and enriching experience she had thanks to our pottery program in Tamegroute, Morocco.
In her article, Joanna shares with us her immersion in the traditional art of Moroccan pottery, a skill handed down from generation to generation, a family history. Between technical training, cultural exchanges and local discoveries, she describes with passion her stay in a community of artisans and artists. She stayed with Tarik Aabi's family, which allowed her to learn even more and share special moments with them.
Joanna was able to learn the different stages of pottery making, as well as the various techniques, and even make a candelabra, a popular decorative object. She then accompanied Tarik to the souk, the weekly Saturday market, to buy the materials needed to make the famous green color used in local creations. Finally, she learned the traditional method of firing pottery.
Her authentic experience reflects the essence of our participative trips: immersing yourself in a culture as a family member, learning from each other and returning home with a heart full of unforgettable memories.
